About the data

Snowfall and depth are Snowline's daily reports for each resort, cleaned up from what the resorts publish on their websites and on surfsnow.jp. A resort is ranked when it reported a depth on at least 60 days and new snow on at least 3; snowfall is the sum of its daily new snow.

The top resorts are compared with 2024-25 only when they reported on at least 80% of the days they were open in both seasons.

Comparisons with 2024-25 only count the resorts that reported in both seasons. Opening dates are the ones the resorts announced; resorts that only open in spring are left out of the opening comparison.

Forecasts are the snow tenki.jp and snow-forecast.com (at the top of the mountain) forecast for a day, compared with the new snow the resort reported the next morning.
