FIELD EARTH

Asahikawa, Hokkaido
Established in 2003
Snowsurf

Cutting edge innovator of snowboard shapes with their 3D and 4D board designs, unique materials with minimalist color topsheets.

Field Earth released X1 in 2007, one of the first snowboards with a 3D base. It had developed since the year 2000. Subsequent years, they released X2 and X3 which applied the 3D technology to different types of shapes.

In 2012, Field Earth released T6 with what they called 4D shape that featured differing thickness of the board itself as well as the 3D base.

In 2021, they further pushed the boundaries with T8, featuring a "double-decker" board. This was followed up in 2024 with the T3 line.

The company is based in Asahikawa, northern Hokkaido, famous for the Asahidake and Furano ski resorts. Their logo is inspired by the outline of the Asahidake mountain ranges.

Previously known as the Artride Directional 3D, then Umlaut Artride 3D, this unique board is an exaggerated but smooth 3D nose and tail which floats like a boat on powder.

The shape lends itself to a shorter contact edge which gives it very quick turns despite the 159cm size.

It is an Artride model that combines both freestyle and freeriding, suitable for art riding on the snow mountains more smoothly and more pop, whether in powder or on groomed snow.

Aesthetically, Artride 3D is impressive and overwhelming in both shape and performance.

It was called Artride Umlaut 3D in 2020.

T3 is an evolution of a unique wing plate design first introduced in the prototype T8.

The bindings sit on a second higher level to the board surface. It not only looks extremely unique, but creates a quicker edge transfer response.

X1 is one of the first 3D shaped boards from Field Earth, designed in 2008.

The 3D base makes it go extremely smoothly on snow enabling high speed turns and manoeuvrability. It can handle powder or groomed.

Riding this board is a unique feeling unlike 2D boards.

3D Prepreg Carbon
2025

This is the pinnacle of Field Earth's material design. The X2FA itself has an exaggerated head and long tail fins which imply purpose built for powder. But it also carves great on piste because of the Prepreg Carbon sheet.

Not only will it turn heads, but it'll definitely makes those huge carving turns.
