TJ Brand spun out of Twelve Snowboards in 2009 named after Tenjin (from Tenjindaira ) from the Tenjin Series boards focused on Snowsurf. Boards manufactured by HT.C and ACT.
The Plant (aka The Shapers) is a project by TJ Brand to produce boards in Japan with semi-customizable specifications.
SUNRISE SHRED SERVICE, a West Tokyo-based company that has been working on plywood blanks for a long time, hand-shaping them and creating countless original shapes. The four TJ family members are Yosuke Nishida and Masayoshi Kamimori, core members of SUNRISE SHRED SERVICE and directors of TJ. Sakuma Hiroshi, who uses SUNRISE SHRED SERVICE blanks to create snowboards and hand-shaped boards, and Toyoda Mitsugu, the legendary skateboarder who runs his own hand-shaped skateboard brand, "Toyoda Skate," and is active as a pro snowboarder with TJ. The four members also join forces with Takuya "Tappy" Yoshikawa, a guest shaper active around the world whose RESIN ART has also garnered significant attention. This remarkable series features the outlines created by the five members, all of whom have been turned into products.
Signature Boards
The most balanced model of the T.J Brand, with stable and high performance at any situation. A dependable solid board for all conditions.
It is designed to be lightweight for touring on a backpack.
Its most famous feature is the Bonzar Bottom (a concept borrowed from 1970s surfboards), which uses a single-to-dual concave through the tail. This channels snow to create lift and acceleration without the board feeling "loose" or "washy."
The Bonzar bottom utilizes the fluid dynamics concepts of Bernoulli's principle and the Coanda effect to create a single-double concave bottom shape. By digging two barrels into the board, the bottom speeds up the water flowing under the bottom, generating lift.
Do not hot wax the channels!
It is arguably the most famous "short-fat" powder board in Japan.
Features a convex bottom and an extremely short tail surf-like for riding demonstrates quick movement from valley terrain to tree runs.
